Judy Herrmann of Herrmann+Starke specializes in digital still life and lifestyle photography for advertising. Her work has appeared in Lurzer's Archive, Graphis,Communication Arts, the How International Design Annual and Pix Digital Annual. She has been recognized as an Olympus Visionary since 2000. She lectures extensively about digital photography and offers consultations on building a successful photography career. A past president of the American Society of Media Photographers, she received the United Nations' International Photographic Council's leadership award in 2008.

Commercial	Photojournalism	Portrait Studio Management	BioCommunication
The Randolph Community College Commercial Photography program is a concentration under the curriculum title of Photographic Technology. This curriculum provides in-depth study of professional commercial photography. Its segments, business practices, tools, techniques and applications are explored via demonstrations, assignments and on-the-job internships. Course work includes in-depth study of advertising photography and product illustration; studio and location camera techniques and lighting; model, food and architectural photography; layout specifications and art direction; corporate and stock photography; digital photography applications; and current commercial business practices.	The Randolph Community College Photojournalism program is a concentration providing in-depth coverage of professional photojournalism as it is currently practiced at newspapers, magazines, and a variety of other publications including the emerging electronic media of the internet and digital photography. Students will receive comprehensive instruction in information gathering and logistical techniques geared to working for a publication. Course work includes all core first-year classes and detailed study in reporting and photography of news, sports , features; computer-based layout and design, multi-media, legal and ethical issues. Two internships at different and varried publications provide practical on-the-job training.	The Randolph Community College Portrait Studio Management program is a concentration under the curriculum title of Photographic Technology. This curriculum prepares individuals with the techniques and procedures used in professional portraiture. Course work includes equipment operations and photographic techniques specific to studio and location portraiture of individuals and groups. Additional topics covered include wedding protocol and logistics, posing, business practices, retouching, digital photography, presentation and studio management.	The Randolph Community College BioCommunication Photography program prepares students to enter the emerging field of BioCommunication by teaching techniques and procedures used in biological and medical photography both on campus and in clinical/field settings. Course work includes all core first-year studies along with a strong foundation in basic portraiture, commercial, digital photography and photojournalism. Specialized courses include microphotography/photomicrography, multimedia production, photojournalism and internship experiences in a variety of settings.
